Recycle center closed September 4 & 6 for holiday

The Branson Recycle Center will be closed Saturday September 4 and Monday September 6 in observance of the Labor Day weekend. The center will reopen Tuesday morning with its new 7:30 a.m. starting time to allow people to drop off recycling on their way to work. Residents may now drop off recyclables starting at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday, plus all day Thursdays 7:30 a.m.

New development approved in north Branson

Aldermen gave final approval to a new development called St. Andrews in Branson Hills along north Highway 65 on the west side. The development will include multi-family units with time shares, recreational facilities, indoor swimming pool and a clubhouse replicating the historic clubhouse in St. Andrews, Scotland.

If you ever wanted to experience incredible “firehouse cooking,” plan on joining Branson firefighters on Thursday, August 26 for lunch as they marinate, cook, and slice up some tender ribeye steak sandwiches to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

“Each year Fire Chief Carl Sparks challenges the firefighters in August to develop a program that improves our fire-rescue operations or community services to our residents and visitors,” said Fire Captain Mike McCarty. “We took a community service angle this year of cooking up a special steak sand
